Our PierogiHistory of Pierogi
Pierogi are a Polish style delicate dumpling that are filled with various different stuffings. They have been a very popular dish made in Poland since the 13th century. However, some claim that they originally came from China and were brought over during the Marco Polo expeditions. Although nothing is confirmed, one thing we do know is that the word pierogi first appeared in Polish cookbooks in the second half of the 17th century. To this day, it is common to have pierogi as a main entree in Polish dinners, especially during the holidays. Where it all started
It all starts with a recipe that was created from our grandparent's generation. Passed down our family line with little tweaks and improvements here and there, we arrive to our modern-day recipe that has many of the same traditional 17th century tastes- but with a 21st century twist. We select only the best ingredients from our local markets right here in Chicago. We then add various fillings, from meats to veggies, wrapped in a thinly rolled dough to create the perfect pierogi, just for you. Our Pierogi All of the ingredients that we use are 100% natural. They do not contain any kind of preservatives, dyes, fragrances, emulsifiers, stabilizers. We offer traditional home-style dumplings so come try a bite! |
